Newly Elected Officials Seminar

In partnership with the West Central Texas Council of Governments’ Community Health and Development Center, TMCN will again host the annual Newly Elected Officials Seminar on July 13th  at the COG.

 

This seminar is intended for newly elected City Council/Commission members as well as any city official wanting a refresher on the best practices of public service.

 

The Seminar will be facilitated by Cisco City Manager Darwin Archer and include the following topics:

  • Parliamentary Procedure/Open Meetings Act
  • Making Dollars Count in Your Budget
  • Maximizing Your Economic Development Power
  • Ethics and Conflicts of Interest
  • Effective Working Relationships – Presented by Brownwood City Manager Emily Crawford and Mayor Steven Hayes
  • Developing Viable Communities Using Grants

 

The Seminar will be held in-person in the Large Conference Room of the West Central Texas Council of Governments located at 3702 Loop 322 in Abilene.

 

The Seminar will begin at 8:30 am and end by 4:30 pm. The cost is $25 and includes all presentations, refreshments and lunch. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us (see contact information below).
