DESCRIPTION:July’s Membership Meeting brings a tough topic – Code Enforcement \nWhat exactly is Code Enforcement? \nCode enforcement is the act of enforcing a set of rules\, principles\, or laws that apply to land and property in a community. Code enforcement officers inspect properties for possible violations and take actions to correct them. SUMMARY:Quadrant Meeting - Hamilton - Code Enforcement
DESCRIPTION:What is Code Enforcement? Well simplified\, Code Enforcement is the act of a city enforcing and ensuring compliance with previously adopted city ordinances. Code Enforcement can be defined as: collaboration between the city\, property owner\, and surrounding property owners to maintain\, improve\, or remove nuisances that impact the community property values\, and quality of life in a positive manner. \nSounds simple enough…but we all know it can be more complex than ‘removing nuisances’. Come learn from speaker Danny Barrett about best practices for Code Enforcement. And we will learn how the community of Seymour streamlined it to a ‘one-page wonder’ form that works for them. \nWHEN: March 6\, 2024 \nWHERE: Wenzel’s Lonestar Meat  209 N. SUMMARY:Quadrant Luncheon - JACKSBORO
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for networking\, lunch\, and a presentation on The Impact of the Teacher Workforce on the Local Community. This meeting will be hosted by the City of Jacksboro/Jacksboro EDC\, and will be held at historic Fort Richardson! Happy Texas Independence Day! \nFACT: 77% of all Texas school teachers are considering leaving their roles. Imagine what would happen if your schools lost more than 3 out of 4 of your teachers this year. What would happen to the students? Their families? Your local employers? Your community? \nEven if you personally don’t have children currently in school\, you can understand the devastating impact of such a potential situation. What is our state government doing about it? What is your community doing about it? How can members of TMCN help prevent this potential crisis? \nCome discuss “The Community Impact of the Teacher Workforce” with your peers in other rural communities as we learn the facts and challenges from Amy Dodson\, Senior Regional Advocacy Director of Raise Your Hand Texas\, a group of Texans engaged in advocacy for public education. Mrs. Dodson will explain factors in the teacher workforce crises\, the impact of teacher shortages in our communities and on our workforce\, and address issues before the 88th Legislature currently in session. Most importantly\, she will lead a group discussion on advocacy actions for your community and the audience can share information\, best practices\, and potential solutions with one another. \nWHEN: March 2\, 2023 \nWHERE: Historic Ft. Richardson    Haliburton Bldg  602 Depot St.    Jacksboro\, TX 76458 \nTIME: 11:30am – 1:30pm \nCOST: $15 \n\n \n \n Quadrant Luncheon Registration\n \n \n Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Tickets Quantity\n \n \n Price:\n $20.00\n \n \n Quantity \n Total\n \n If registering more than one person\, please list all attendeesPhone *(Required)Email*(Required)\n \n Credit CardCard Details\n \n Cardholder Name\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Δ

SUMMARY:July Membership Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Rural Broadband Initiative \nDid you know…many communities in the TMCN organization are eligible for these funds? Is YOUR community one of them? Is YOUR community ready? \nConnect American Funds (H.R. 3152 2015) are in Phase II and will subsidize projects by smaller carriers in areas where the digital divide persists. Service providers eligible for CAF Phase II support include electric cooperatives\, wireless internet service providers\, cable operators\, telecom carriers\, and satellite companies\, which can compete to receive funding in exchange for offering voice and broadband services that meet program requirements. \nAn extension of the Connect America Fund (CAF)\, the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) is a $20.4 billion\, 10-year program to finance rural broadband internet projects in unserved rural communities. Under RDOF\, service providers must deploy broadband to 40 percent of the locations in their service delivery area within three years\, and all locations by the end of the sixth year. \nOur July 28 Membership meeting will host a variety of speakers to help you– the broadband services decision maker in your community. Come hear important presentations that will ensure your community has the information it needs to make the best choice where these funds are concerned. \nWHEN: THURSDAY JULY 28\, 2022 \nTIME: 11:30AM – 3:00PM \nLOCATION: Community Foundation of Abilene \n850 N. 1st St. Abilene\, TX 79604 \nCOST: $15
