DESCRIPTION:WE’RE SORRY – REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.  \n  \nIn partnership with the West Central Texas Council of Governments’ Community Health and Development Center\, TMCN will again host the annual Newly Elected Officials Seminar on July 13th  at the COG. \n  \nThis seminar is intended for newly elected City Council/Commission members as well as any city official wanting a refresher on the best practices of public service. \n  \nThe Seminar will be facilitated by Cisco City Manager Darwin Archer and include the following topics: \n\nParliamentary Procedure/Open Meetings Act\nMaking Dollars Count in Your Budget\nMaximizing Your Economic Development Power\nEthics and Conflicts of Interest\nEffective Working Relationships – Presented by Brownwood City Manager Emily Crawford and Mayor Steven Hayes\nDeveloping Viable Communities Using Grants\n\n  \nThe Seminar will be held in-person in the Large Conference Room of the West Central Texas Council of Governments located at 3702 Loop 322 in Abilene. \n  \nThe Seminar will begin at 8:30 am and end by 4:30 pm. The cost is $25 and includes all presentations\, refreshments and lunch. DESCRIPTION:We’re going live with the 2021 Class of Leadership TMCN and we want your community to be a part of it! \nThe Leadership Program seeks to engage high school students as active participants in the growth and development of their respective communities by learning effective tools to “sell the dream” and identify ways to implement change. The goal is for students and mentors to create and carry out an impactful community project.  Students teams may be composed of up to four (4) junior classification students per team and include 1(one) business leader sponsored by a TMCN Community Delegate/Alternate – Limit one (1) Team per Community.
