SUMMARY:Newly Elected Officials Seminar
DESCRIPTION:WE’RE SORRY – REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED.  \n  \nIn partnership with the West Central Texas Council of Governments’ Community Health and Development Center\, TMCN will again host the annual Newly Elected Officials Seminar on July 13th  at the COG. \n  \nThis seminar is intended for newly elected City Council/Commission members as well as any city official wanting a refresher on the best practices of public service. \n  \nThe Seminar will be facilitated by Cisco City Manager Darwin Archer and include the following topics: \n\nParliamentary Procedure/Open Meetings Act\nMaking Dollars Count in Your Budget\nMaximizing Your Economic Development Power\nEthics and Conflicts of Interest\nEffective Working Relationships – Presented by Brownwood City Manager Emily Crawford and Mayor Steven Hayes\nDeveloping Viable Communities Using Grants\n\n  \nThe Seminar will be held in-person in the Large Conference Room of the West Central Texas Council of Governments located at 3702 Loop 322 in Abilene. \n  \nThe Seminar will begin at 8:30 am and end by 4:30 pm. The cost is $25 and includes all presentations\, refreshments and lunch. SUMMARY:Quarterly Membership Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the location of our newest Marketing Partner\, West Texas Rehabilitation Center\, where we’ll explore the exceptional medical resources available to the citizens of our region through the Center. We’ll also hear from Quang Ngo\, Vice President of TORCH and the President/CEO of the TORCH Foundation\, regarding the impact of the COVID Pandemic on our personal and professional lives and the valuable lessons learned in the process. \nQuang has successfully managed many rural initiatives that have delivered significant benefits to rural hospitals and providers. Before joining TORCH over 15 years ago\, Quang was the State’s Flex Coordinator for Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility and Critical Access Hospital Program for Texas. Quang serves in numerous leadership capabilities on various external boards and committees\, including one of his favorites the Texas Rural Practitioners – a consortium of outstanding rural advocates working to support healthy\, vibrant rural communities.  Quang attended Trinity University for his undergraduate studies in Biology and Philosophy and the University of Texas\, School of Public Health at the Health Sciences Center in Houston\, for his graduate studies in public health and Health Services Organization. \nThe meeting will end with a tour of the WTRC facility and the incredible work they are doing in the areas of adult and pediatric therapy\, employer services\, orthotics and prosthetics\, audiology\, and family support services. \nCome for a delicious lunch prior to the program and experience the value of networking and sharing your community’s story with your peer professionals throughout the Texas Midwest! \nRegister and Purchase Your Ticket Below \n\n\n \n\n\nNumber of Attendees\n\n\n1 Attendee $15.00 USD2 Attendees $30.00 USD3 Attendees $45.00 USD4 Attendees $60.00 USD5 Attendees $75.00 USD
