JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS:
The Executive Director is responsible for all the day to day operations, programs, and activities of the BOED: is the primary contact for all businesses interested in expanding or relocating to Mitchell County.  The Executive Director is responsible for assisting individuals explore opportunities for start-up businesses, participates in local, regional and state economic development training and marketing programs, is responsible for identifying community development opportunities and deficiencies and works to obtain funding either locally or through applicable grants for community development.  Some travel outside the county is required as well as have the ability to work some irregular hours occasionally.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified applicants should have an understanding of city, county and state government rules and regulations in the area of economic development, sales and finance experience, familiar with contract negotiations tactics.  Minimum two (2) years of experience/background in the area of economic development and A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
