Leadership TMCN launched in 2014 with the desire to showcase our up & coming future leaders and, in the process, help them “See the Dream” and move their communities forward via a community project. Gracie Bland and her business mentor Renee Ash took on the mammoth task of renovating Throckmorton’s historic jail. Built in 1875, the jail remained operational until 1899 and was added to the Texas Register of Historic Places in 1978. The facility fell into disrepair over the years yet Gracie saw the need to ensure this historic site would be enjoyed by future generations. She worked with local organizations and enlisted a number of community volunteers to help make her dream a reality.  Through countless hours of removing debris and old flooring, replacing damaged windows and doors, painting and returning historic artifacts, the facility is now a showcase the community can be proud of. Independent judging of the 2015 Leadership TMCN Projects was conducted in September and awards were made at this year’s Annual Conference. For her efforts, Gracie received a 1st Place Scholarship of $2,000.
